Julia Fiona Roberts born to Betty Lou Bredemus (mother) and Walter Grady Roberts on October 28th the 28th of October, 1967. Her grandfather, her great-grandfather John Pendleton Roberts, a farmer, was the first Roberts to arrive in Atlanta. Her father was a theatre enthusiast from a very young stage. As a student in Emory University he appeared in diverse productions, both in and outside of the campus. While stationed in Biloxi Mississippi, he was inducted into the airforce in the year 1953. Betty Lou Bredemus was in that production as well. The couple got married in 1955, and their first son Eric Anthony was born in 1956. In 1957 the couple left the Air Force and Walter enrolled in Tulane University in New Orleans Louisiana. Walter worked for Atlanta Academy Theater and Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio. In 1960, the family moved in Decatur Georgia. Walter and Betty Lou financed their own production of the local Sunday morning show for children, Bum Bum and His Buddies. In 1964 Walter and Betty Lou established The Actors and Writers Workshop. It lasted for 6 years. They welcomed in 1965 two new children: Lelisa Billingsley and Julia Billingsley.
