
Bellamy Young (born Amy Maria Young; February 19, 1970)[1] is an American actor, producer, and vocalist, who is most famous for her character Melody "Mellie" Grant in the ABC drama series Scandal (2012-2018). In recognition of her performance, she won the Critics' Choice Television Award for Best Supporting Actress in the Drama Series in 2014. Also, she was an actor in Fox's Prodigal Son (1919-2021). Young started her career as an actor as a theatre actor. In 1997 Young made her Broadway debut in the role of Mary in the original The Life cast. The Life. [8][9] In addition to the Broadway debut, she's played Mary off Broadway in Stephen Sondheim's musical You Roll Along (1994) as well as Randy Newman's Faust (95-1996). The year 1995 was the year she made her TV debut as a regular in"awkward" NBC daytime soap the show Another World as Dr. Courtney Evans. She was a part of two seasons in the show Law & Order, 1997 and 1998. Her film debut was in 1999 when she played an important role in the Black and White's crime drama. In the following years, she starred in other independent films. In the early 2000s she was spotted in guest-starring parts on various television comedies and dramas such as The Drew Carey Show, The X Files, ER, Frasier, The West Wing, NCIS, Medium, Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, Two and a Half Men, Supernatural, Drop Dead Diva, and Castle. Young featured on over 30 TV shows from 2000 and 2011.
