thomas sadoski-2Sadoski started his stage career that was awarded with awards as an understudy for Mark Ruffalo and Mark Rosenthal in the Off-Broadway production of Kenneth Lonergan's critically-acclaimed production This is Our Youth at the Second Stage Theatre. This production was the beginning of many for the New York-based theater group. He has appeared in numerous Off-Broadway and Broadway productions, as with productions in regional theatres. He portrayed Greg in Neil LaBute's play Reasons to Be Pretty for MCC Theatre with his Newsroom co-star Alison Pill. After receiving praise for its critically acclaimed off-broadway run that sold out the play was transferred to Broadway in April 2009 when it received three Tony Award nominations (Best Actor: Sadoski, Best Actress: Marin Ireland, Best Play) as well as three Drama Desk Award nominations (Best Actor: Sadoski, Best Director: Terry Kinney and Best Play) Two Outer Critics Circle Award nominations (Best actor: Sadoski, Best New Play),and three Drama League Award nominations (Best Play, Distinguished Performance Awards: Sadoski and Ireland). [6] Neil LaBute credits Sadoski for his role in bringing about the critically acclaimed changes in the tone of reasons to be pretty from his earlier plays saying: "His own thoughtfulness and positive attitude helped me not be reliant on anything that I had done prior to that. My plays always end in a dark place. He helped me to see different colors within the color palette. I believed that to be also true in real life. He was the original Trip Wyeth character in Jon Robin Baitz's Other Desert Cities, for which he was honored with an Obie Award (and a Lucille Lortel Award). The Outer Critics Circle named the play the Outstanding New Off-Broadway Performer in 2011. Sadoski has also been seen on Broadway alongside Ben Stiller, Edie Falco, Jennifer Jason Leigh and Alison Pill in John Guare's House of Blue Leaves
